Surro Babe: 38 Weeks!!

I can't believe we are 38w1d right now!! We are hoping to set an induction date of either Sunday the 6th or Monday the 7th. Since IF will only be here for a few days, I hope my dr will approve it! I have my 38wk appt tomorrow, so we will see!

Today is: April 2, 2014

How far along: 38 Weeks 1 Days!!! 13 Days to go!!!

Total weight gain: 12lbs

Baby is the size of: A Pumpkin

What is going on with this baby: Surro Babe has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she is over 19 1/2 inches long. She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb. Wondering what color baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Baby is a: GIRL!!!

Maternity Clothes: Oh Yeah, and loving it!!

Sleep: Eh... I am waking up around 3x a night to go to the bathroom and my hips are killing me.

Movement: She is a Mover and loves to kick my ribs. She is mostly active in the mornings and late afternoons.

Symptoms: Lots of Contractions. I am currently 2cm and hoping these contractions are doing what they are supposed to do! Really getting uncomfortable.

Food Cravings/Aversions: A lot of Fruits and Veggies. Froot Loops. Cheerios. Ice. Lots of water!

37 Weeks!!

Best moment(s) this week:

Surro Babe: Week 10 and Update

So there has been a lot going on with the pregnancy within the past few weeks. On September 4th I went in for a routine ultrasound and found out that we lost one of the twins. It was completely gone and there was no signs of it ever being there. We also noticed another sac with 2 amnions and yolk sacs. So that appt was very confusing for not only me, but for my IP's. It was hard to communicate what was going on since I was completely confused. The Dr. thinks it could have been "Vanishing Twin Syndrome," but no one is certain. I went back on the 18th and the baby is doing great! The other chaotic sac is slowly dissolving, so the dr is not concerned. I was also released to my regular ob!! So as of today, I am currently 10w2d with One Precious Baby. We were all sad about losing the twin but we are all so grateful for the little Peanut that is in there and hanging on.

So, now that things have calmed down a little, I can get back to these weekly posts.

Today is: September 22, 2013

How far along: 10 weeks 2 days

Total weight gain: 2lbs

Baby is the size of: A Kumquat

What is going on with this baby: Though Peanut is barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, their baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. Peanut's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his/her kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout the pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. In other developments: Their baby's limbs can bend now. His/Her hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his/her feet may be long enough to meet in front of his/her body. The outline of his/her spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Their baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his/her developing brain and sits very high on his/her head, which measures half the length of his/her body. From crown to rump, he/she is about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, their baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

Baby is a: ??? Should find out the middle of November!!

Maternity Clothes: oh yeah...

Sleep: It's getting better...

Movement: Too soon!

Symptoms: Nausea is slowly getting better. Zofran, Peppermint Gum and Warm Tea are my friends.

Food Cravings/Aversions: I cant eat or drink anything sweet or I will get sick. Loving Protein, fruits and veggies.

Best moment(s) this week:
Seeing Peanut on the 18th! He/She is growing great and has a great heartbeat of 164, which is up from 159 from the 4th. Stopping some of my meds!!

I'm looking forward to:
Seeing my regular OB on October 2nd!!
Stopping my Meds!!

Have a great week!!!!

Surro Babe: Week 4

I can't believe that we am currently FOUR Weeks Pregnant :) I will now start my weekly stats for my IP's! Since they can't be here for the pregnancy, This is a great way for them to stay connected to their Miracle!

Today is: August 11th

How far along: 4 weeks {due April 20, 2014}

Total weight gain: None.

Baby is the size of: A Poppy Seed!

What is going on with this Baby: This week marks the beginning of the embryonic period. From now until 10 weeks, all of your baby's organs will begin to develop and some will even begin to function. As a result, this is the time when she'll be most vulnerable to anything that might interfere with her development.
Right now your baby is an embryo the size of a poppy seed, consisting of two layers: the epiblast and the hypoblast, from which all of her organs and body parts will develop.
The primitive placenta is also made up of two layers at this point. Its cells are tunneling into the lining of your uterus, creating spaces for your blood to flow so that the developed placenta will be able to provide nutrients and oxygen to your growing baby when it starts to function at the end of this week.
Also present now are the amniotic sac, which will house your baby; the amniotic fluid, which will cushion her as she grows; and the yolk sac, which produces your baby's red blood cells and helps deliver nutrients to her until the placenta has developed and is ready to take over this duty.
What is going on with Me: I should be going in for more blood work this week to make sure the numbers are doubling! Then I get to schedule the first ultrasound!
